Calm your nerves

Oftentimes, we are led to believe that reserving some time to ourselves can be a waste or even selfish. Whether you need an hour, a day or a week, you deserve it for the sake of your health and well-being. Many of us live in such chaotic conditions, that drowning out the noise for a little while will allow us to appreciate the things we do not get the chance to be thankful for. A pamper session is especially needed before a big event. Not what other people think is a big event, but what makes you particularly jittery. Whatever this event may be, we have a few ways you can prepare yourself, and calm your nerves

❥ Immerse yourself in a hobby
It’s near impossible to sandwich a hobby when dealing with a tight schedule. Take advantage of your time out to do the things that you once loved and fill that hole of yearning. Whether it be reading, knitting, painting, scrapbooking…or just being able to finish a whole episode of your favourite show, do it!

❥ Organise your space
Many say that an organised environment means for an organised mind. It is true that your surroundings can influence the way in which you feel. Transforming your room, or house, from a cluttered conundrum to a much more minimal space may relieve you. Especially if you are accustomed to your messy ways, a nice change becomes noticeable. At the same time, this ticks off one thing on your to-do list that you just never seem to have time for.

❥ Unwind under bubbles
Rather than a quick shower, how about a bubble bath, complete with candles, your favourite music and spending some extra time looking after your body. Feel no guilt as you smother on a face mask, or a hair mask (or dare I say both!), and moisturise your exhausted self.

Whatever is making you nervous, accept that you will have to face it, and worrying will not make the situation any easier. Instead, correct your ‘what ifs’ to something more optimistic. Confidence is your shield, and you will get through it.
