Disorders As Adjectives
Mental health issues can only be diagnosed by a professional. Please refrain from using serious problems as adjectives. This includes Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), Bipolar Disorder, Schizophrenia and Anorexia which are the most commonly misunderstood and unfortunately are thrown around as simple labels. It’s damaging.
Support those who have a true diagnosis by learning as much as you can about what’s out there from more reliable sources. Symptoms are not always as obvious as portrayed in some media.
If you feel unhappy or that your quality of life is being compromised because of any thoughts or behaviours you notice, please seek help. Mental health is just as important as physical health; nothing should be taboo about it. Mental disorders are more common than you may think, and resources are available to you.
