Fall Trends
Fall is just around the corner; at least many of us hope it is! Naturally, that means that it’s time to evaluate the 2015 Fall/Winter style guide. If you pair these soon-to-be trends with some of your current staple pieces, you will be the most fashionable person walking down the street.
• Color Scheme
This fall and winter will bring out a variation of colors, ranging from mauve to mustard, berry to brown. Pair neutrals with pops of color for a warm yet fresh look. See the full list of trendy fall/winter colors here.
• Chunky Sweaters
In addition to the many variations of the chunky sweater, there are many different ways to wear one. You can layer them and wear them with scarves, necklaces, leggings and more. This will be a great staple piece for the cold weather. For example, to achieve a casual look, match an oversized cream sweater with black skinny jeans, paired with ankle boots of any colour.
• Scarves
Scarves can easily transform an outfit, so it’s fortunate for all those minimal shoppers out there that they are in style this season. Scarves can also go with a variety of other pieces; it won’t be hard to mix and match outfits. Try styling a scarf with a dress, a chunky boyfriend cardigan, leggings, and ankle boots for an effortlessly chic look.
• Wide Brim Hats
At the very end of last winter, I noticed wide brim hats beginning to trend. It’s no surprise that they weren’t widely worn during the summer, but it may be even less of a surprise that stores are now stocked up with them. These can be styled with a variety of outfits, so don’t be afraid to try them with different looks.
• Kitten Heels
In terms of practicality, kittens heels are superior to all other heels. However, I’m skeptical on whether or not this will trend this year. I’m guessing that pointed toe pumps will remain more popular, but I suppose we’ll find out soon enough. If you choose to wear them however, try styling with skinny jeans, a casual blouse and a blazer.
• Ankle boots
Ankle boots are very versatile, which may be why they are my go-to fall/winter shoe. They come in many different styles and colours. You can style a pair for both a casual or formal look; it really can liven up any outfit.
